We love our moms. We love to fight with our moms. And then we love them even more.
Classic triggers:
1) Boyfriend/Spouse
2) Lack of a Boyfriend/Spouse
3) No particular reason
I think we fight with them cause of all the people in the world, you know they will put up with our foul moods, fell our pain when we manifest it as anger, have immense strength to imbibe the pain and still come ack and still love us as they did when we were babies. And cause they have the patience to wait for us to grow up. Patience that will last for ever, and how we need that. Cause when we fight with our moms, we know we don't have to grow up.
Now that I've established the sentimental import of these squabbles, let me try and find their funny sides :)
Mom: Sri, did you call Ramakrishna Kukatpalli?
Sri: Who? Wait, I'm on the freeway, can I call you back?
Mom: Kukatpalli, whose parents called last month. Did you call them
Sri: I'm going to crash into a 16 wheeler, can I call you back?
Mom: You allways cut me off. Fine. Call him. It's been so long, what will they think?
Sri: Mooooo *voice goes really shrill by now*
Mom: Fine, fine <click>
Mom: Hi Sri, call me back. The weather is so great today.
Mom: Hi kutti. Hope you are well, why don't you give me a call?
Mom: Hi Sri. We saw a new plot today. It was nice. We are going to watch a movie in the evening. Call me back.
Mom: Finally. How are you? How is your health? Did you call Kukatpalli? They have been asking.
Sri: Mommy! You are so mean. You never listen to what I have to say. I am so stressed and you just give me more h.w. you don't care, waaah.
Mom: Wait, what just happened? (sigh, when will she grow up).
Sri: Waaah
